ARMAGEDDON! TO HELL WITH MANMADE GLOBAL WARMING, IT'S MANMADE ICE AGE THAT IS IN THE MAKING!

Coastal  Georgia and South Carolina are under a Winter Storm warning tomorrow morning with up to 2 to 4 inches of snow!!!! Everything in the Coastal Empire and the Low Country is closed tomorrow including my parish office!

It is armaggedon! We are apoplectic and do not know what to do! Pandemonium has broken out, grocery stores are raided!

Oh the humanity! This is being compared to the Blizzard of 1989 when I was at our Cathedral in Savannah and we got three inches of snow a day before  Christmas Eve making it my first white Christmas everrrrrr!!!!!

Pray for us!!!!!! It's Armageddon!!!!!!!!!!

Egyptian beat me to it. It was only minus 11 F here in the river valley. The chickens aren’t laying now.

Bee here:

In Chicago where I am, 2 to 4 inches of snow is considered flurries!

The other morning the temperature on the car thermometer said 9 above zero while the car was in the garage. After I got halfway to my destination, it was -2, actual air temperature. Wind chill is a whole 'nother story.

Today it was a balmy 1 (one) degree above zero. We had a little snow on Christmas, probably 2 inches where I am. Most people didn't even bothered to shovel.

Hunker down. Put on a hat (80% of body heat is lost through the head). Sit in your sweats under a comforter, and listen to classical music. In a day or two it will be all over. :-)

God bless.

We do get some inclement winter weather down here in Georgia but it hardly compares to what is experienced in the Midwest and Upper Midwest. Neither what for us would be extreme cold, nor any accumulation of wintry precipitation(a very infrequent occurrence) persist very long. For that I am thankful.

High temperatures in the low sixties and high fifties are forecast for next week.

My uncle on Edisto is in the mid and low twenties. They don’t insulate homes as much so he has to leave his taps dripping so they don’t freeze. We are back in single positive digits so are plenty comfortable. When I lived in Maine we heated with wood. I came to the conclusion that as long as you cut, hauled, stacked, and split the wood you were sweating so hard you didn’t need to actually burn any of it.

You can say you had a white Christmas---of course we are still in the 12 days of Christmas, unlike the secular world, where "Christmas" starts around Halloween (in terms of radio music and decorations) and ends on December 26.

Very odd to have snow in Savannah, and nothing up here in Atlanta---but we got our share about a month ago, up to 10 inches in places. Unlike Savannah, we won't hit the 60s early next week---low 50s is more the norm (for highs) this time of year, about 8-10 degrees cooler than Savannah because of being inland and higher elevation here in the Piedmont.
